Information about the transport services provided by MPK Kraków.

MPK S.A. provides transport services under an agreement for the provision of public transport services in Kraków concluded with the Urban Municipality of Kraków. These services are organized by the Kraków Public Transport Executive (ZTP).

What is MPK S.A. responsible for?

1. Transporting passengers

To ensure that passengers are able to travel safely, comfortably and quickly is the core task of the operator, which is in the process of purchasing modern, low-floor buses and trams. A private operator, Mobilis, runs a number of bus routes and is responsible for the quality of transport services on them.

2. Distributing tickets

To ensure proper ticket distribution is a further task performed by MPK S.A. To make it easier for passengers to buy tickets, the operator launched the Kraków City Card (Krakowska Karta Miejska), which makes it possible to buy tickets from stationary vending machines across the city and from mobile vending machines installed on MPK S.A. vehicles.

What is MPK S.A. not responsible for?

1. Locations of bus and tram stops

4. Opening new bus and tram lines

This decision can only be made by the Kraków Public Transport Executive, which is responsible for organizing all public transport in the Kraków conurbation, i.e. in the city itself and the neighbouring municipalities that are also covered by MPK S.A. buses.

5. Ticket prices

All ticket price changes and discounts are made by Kraków City Council.

6. Ticket inspections
